Populism

Populism is a threat we all need to turn away from

Hi. This is Keir on Tik Tok –
surely my coolest yet.
Today I’ll show you how to block
the populism threat.

Thousands are answering its call
they’re staking out a claim
which offers change and, best of all,
finds someone you can blame.

Whatever your frustration
that sense you cannot win
there is an explanation:
someone with darker skin.

This seems to be what people need
though some of it is vague
but in the polls this is the creed
that’s spreading like the plague.

Farage’s style is do or die
He drives like Mr. Toad
so God help those who occupy
the middle of the road.

My core beliefs are fragile
and hard to understand.
I’d say my stance is agile
‘A stranger in this land.’

But then a quick revision
as conference agree
Reform stands for division
Labour for decency.

There’s lies on social media
Who knows which side to join?
I look up Wikipedia
and then I toss a coin.

The NHS is on its knees
I like my carers white
but Tommy Robinson agrees
Shabana got it right.

They watch us mimic their attacks
they’ve got us on the run
so why should populists relax?
They’ve only just begun.
