Them nasty Nazis bombed our town we didn’t have no guns. If anyone deserved a smack them Nazis were the ones. Them history books they tell it all we had them Nazis beat. Me dad weren’t in the war at all because of his flat feet. But I said if our feet weren’t flat it wouldn’t be that great. If nothin’ else we’d find it hard to stand up bloomin’ straight. And soldiers had to stand up straight cos that’s how they were trained. Me dad just smiled and took me hand and patiently explained. That’s how it were with mum and dad they’d always be around to put us right if we were wrong they’d never let us down. Me dad were fun, me dad were brave me dad could not be beat. Them Nazis were the lucky ones because he had flat feet.
