Everything’s more brutal than it used to be

Don’t we know it said Jo Blog
Don’t we know it said powers that be
Don’t we know it A&E
Everything’s more brutal than it used to be
Greeted by news of leader SNP
The tanks not as full as it needs to be
Twenty-four hours on the go, still not enough
Don’t I know
Everything’s more brutal than it used to be
Eight years in a role she held dear
Higher profile reach year by year
Down time nil, it seems clear
Everything’s more brutal than it used to be
Knife crime rife, gang land man
Avoid hoodied youth if you can
Keep head low, walk away
Everything’s more brutal than it used to be
Britain turning sore within
Ukraine fighting dictator’s whim
China flexing for a fight
Taiwan looking at their might
Sunak dithering; monies tight
Our military’s needs are just and right
We need to plan for what’s in sight
Everything is more brutal than it used to be
Don’t pretend things will get better
The wind’s picking up towards stormier weather
Air strikes next on Putin’s agenda
Everything’s more brutal than it used to be
Don’t we know it said the cops
Don’t we know it, recorded cop’s victims’ logs
Don’t we know it says smuggling boss
Everything’s more brutal than it used to be
Britain’s now fair game
In the world of crime, it’s no shame
To hit a country that can’t contain
Everything
That’s more brutal than it used to be
