The East Midlands is the very heart of England and from Glossop to Grimsby, from Boston to Brackley, every town celebrates Christmas in its own special way. This year, some cherished traditions have been put on hold (Melton Mowbray’s Christmas tree festival) while some new innovations have taken off (Leicester’s They Can’t Cancel Christmas short film). Here at East Midlands Bylines, we’ve been celebrating each and every part of the region with our very own twitter poll Christmas Championships. 16 nominations from all over the region have been whittled down through six heats to just four finalists.

Earlier this week, Buxton Boxing Day carol concert, Glossop and Tameside Christmas mission, Belton House illuminations and Christmas in Chesterfield Elf Trail battled it out in a keenly fought contest and, finally, we’re delighted to be able to announce that the winner of the 2020 East Midlands Bylines Christmas Championships is..

              ..CHRISTMAS IN CHESTERFIELD ELF TRAIL!!

Congratulations to Destination Chesterfield for organising the event and a heartfelt Happy Christmas to every single person in our wonderful region.
